Sweet Italian Sausage Skillet Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (480 ml) rotini or other spiral pasta
  • 12 oz (330 g) sweet Italian sausage links
  • 14.5 oz (410 g) Italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • 14.5 oz (410 g) cut green Italian beans, drained
  • 2 tsp cooking oil
  • 6 oz (170 g) tomato paste
  • 1 cup (240 ml) chicken broth
  • 2 oz (55 g) shredded provolone or mozzarella

Procedure

  1. Cook pasta and drain.
  2. Meanwhile, brown sliced sausage in hot oil in large skillet for 5 minutes, then drain away the fat.
  3. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, broth, and drained beans. Bring to boil, then reduce heat. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in cooked pasta.
  5. Sprinkle with cheese.
